Groteskly Yours Studio Lab (GYS Lab) is a collection of typographic tools, experiments, and small web-based utilities for type and graphic designers. Most of experiments started as things we built for ourselves, as we needed them to test typefaces, generate ideas, or introduce a bit more unpredictability into our own work. Initially, the Lab was meant to be an internal place for collecting these tools and sketches. At some point, keeping them to ourselves stopped making much sense, so we decided to make them public. They are now free to use, experiment with, misuse, or incorporate into your own process.
All experiments use typefaces from Groteskly Yours Studio by default. Visitors are welcome to load your own fonts and see what happens. Uploaded files are processed locally in your browser and are never sent to or stored on our servers.

Studio
Groteskly Yours Studio is an independent type foundry based in Belgrade, Serbia. Founded by Eugene and Anna in 2019, the studio began as a collaborative project and has since grown into a broader type design practice working with designers, agencies, and clients around the world.
At GYS, our main focus is type: from retail families and custom typefaces to lettering, research, and more experimental projects. We are particularly interested in the space between functionality and character: making typefaces that are useful enough to become everyday tools, while retaining the details and peculiarities that give them a distinct voice.
A lot of our work also extends beyond drawing letters. We build small tools, write code, design specimens, collect references, test ideas, and occasionally follow an experiment far enough for it to become a project of its own. GYS Lab grew naturally out of this part of the studio practice, and is meant to be a place for some of those tools and experiments to live outside our own computers.
